One Step At a Time

Throughout this exhausting grade 10 journey, I have not learned just what the teacher taught me, but I have learned what challenges it takes me. I know that the Grade 10 journey was a tough battle, but with the guidance of our teacher, I know that I could do this all. This shouldn't be said here, but throughout the journey I have been on, ICT subjects haven't been my thing. I really don't have a lot of knowledge about computers or technology-related work, so my grades aren't that high but not low either. Moreover, I have discovered a passion that leads me to love or appreciate what I hated before. I discovered a lot of new things, not just my learnings in this subject, "ICT,” but the challenges I faced in this subject. I learned that attempting new things can transform my life, not through negative experiences but through positive ones. Furthermore, this subject, ICT, made me stronger than I have ever been before; I have learned to be more independent and consistent. In addition to this, this subject of ICT made me realize that no matter how hard you try, you may win or lose. What matters most is that you have exerted effort beyond that thing you have been facing through, and with that you win, but the most important thing is that you have learned to appreciate your own efforts.

Besides the good things I have faced, I also encountered challenges in this subject because of self-study learning. There are times when I really don't understand the lesson, and it takes a lot of hours to understand what the context or lesson is all about. Sometimes when I try to understand the lesson, it takes me a couple hours, taking all the hours I should have spent on other school-related work. Moreover, sometimes I cram at school because I haven't finished my homework trying to understand the lesson because of the quiz that was happening the day before. I spent all my time trying to understand it, but I couldn't, so I just did other stuff, and it led me to get a low score. To sum it up, the challenge for me or some of my classmates that we have encountered is to understand the lesson that hasn't been discussed just because we are having a quiz on that particular lesson.

But for a particular reason, I address these challenges by taking down notes using cues and keywords and then searching them up so that I can understand them better. But sometimes I just search on YouTube for that particular lesson so that I can understand it, though sometimes there are no such things or lessons uploaded on YouTube, so I just do the cues and keywords method.

Moving on, I will do my best in all ways just to have good grades or to fulfill my wish, which is to have good grades in that particular subject, which is ICT. Even though it was hard and exhausting, I am sure that I could do this by setting a goal that I want or would do to achieve that goal. Additionally, I do believe that trying is better even when we fail rather than not trying, but there's a chance that we could succeed. Moreover, I trust our teacher in ICT, which is Mrs. Evelyn Reyes Vera Cruz, that she wouldn't let her students fail in her subject; she would be our guide not just in her subject but based on real-life events. So, I will do my best to do what she says and do what she guided me to do. And with that, I could succeed and fulfill my wish to have good grades and to be part of that honor roll.
